Been trying to get a hold of him for a while and seems he hasn’t logged in for a while either.
Came across this thread too, where he states he’s leaving because of the mod situation and I was wondering if anyone who knows the guy can say if he’s gone or just ‘away’ ? : )

It perhaps didn’t warrant leaving, but he has a point. I visit 2 other forums on a regular basis, and although I like this forum a lot, it’s a nice little community with a lot of good posters, it’s horrendously over-moderated in comparison.
We are all adults here, it’s not a kiddy Disney forum, therefore the moderation should be a little more relaxed than it is.

It wasn’t just that incident, there were others that I was involved in to which got over policed for no real reason. It’s a bummer to see people get old and cranky.

I’m not sure what threads were “over-moderated” that caused him to leave, I talked to him about his butt-hurtedness on MSN and he will prolly not be back. When we go hang out in Sept. :cough cough: I’ll slap some sense into him.

While I have nothing but complete and utter understanding for the need of moderation I do agree that some threads gets closed with very little warrant.

This forum was never established as something formal, and lately it’s getting way too stiff. Questions still were resolved. If this forum is a forum- which is a discussion, it should be allowed to be spontaneous within reason. Real discussions are like that. The assumed babysitting of nothing is what makes it unpleasant.
Without that kind of discussion, the real kind, then the forums aren’t going to go anywhere…
I haven’t seen anything too heinous, but I do agree that it’s getting a little stiff [whisper]that’s what she said[/whisper]. I think it could do everyone some good to chillax a bit.
We should have a forum for mankle like discussion, a sub forum to the random forum where anything goes with a huge disclaimer when you enter.
