To <i> or not to <i>? (dynamic text box weirdness)

Dunno why, but for some reason, when i use the italicize tag in my external text file, the italicized text won’t show up on-screen. The <b> and <u> tags work just fine, but the <i> tag is causing some weirdness. Has anyone had this happen before, or does anyone have any suggestions? thanks.

try, <em> your txt </em>, i dont know for sure it will work, but you can atleast try it,…

Good luck,

no luck :frowning: I’m using Verdana, and I didn’t have to do anything special to embed the bold font, so i’m at a loss. Anyone else got an idea?

test.htmlText = “<i>Hi” works for me, when “test” is a dynamic textbox with html enabled. I have mx 2004, so I don’t know whether it works in mx.

Yeah, i checked that page out a while ago, but i’m not sure if it does much for me. the fact that the bold font shows up fine it’s what’s confusing me, because i didn’t do anything to make that happen. why would that work and the italicized style not work?
