To mask or not to mask?

I am working on doing an online animated flyer for someone that is due this week and would like to incorporate an effect that can be seen @ http://www.bestglamourmodels.com/andy_macfarland/ which takes place on the models on the left. I am wondering if that is done by masking? If so, can someone point me in the right direction. — and even if it isn’t masking can someone still point me in the right direction. :slight_smile: I would appreciate it.

This is definitely done with masking - and images moving underneath the masks too…

what you have to try to do is create multiple layers and multiple instances of the image you want to work with… then you move the images on each layer a bit left or right so they dont fit when the mask goes over it. - mask all of them and play around with the masks…
