Tshirt thang

Hi all,

long time listener first time caller.

I am sure this word twist has been drawn upon before, in other words I am sure Im not treading new territory, other then a lawsuit maybe; but whenever I view this site, this is the first thing that comes to mind. Perhaps the name, perhaps the mario themes that pop up…i dunno.

Little outside my style, but decent enough I thought to make an early submission. The text is a little too small in hindsight …never worked with cafe press before.

Muted Logic

LOL that is pretty cool  Yeah - I’ve heard numerous mario references associated with my name over the years!

hey best design so far =) but whats the < / confusion > for ?

If you go to Kirupa.com you will end the confusion(what is a kirupa, and why is this guy wearing a shirt of it) - hence < / confusion > (unless that isnt what he was thinking, and I just made it up)

thing is, its the end of a tag so it would me kirupa is in it, no ?

More resources than you can shake a goomba at

THAN

…Hah!..always get your english major gf to proof read your work. repeat-

yea its an end tag…ie. end confusion…its a weak witty remark…that obviously doesnt get the point accross!
how ironic.

haha

That’s really awsome… I practically grew up on Mario…
I understood the confusion tag, and I think it’ll be quite understandable to anyone who’d be interested in Kirupa anyway… It’s one of those things, if you don’t get it, you don’t have to… if you do get it, you appreciate it greatly.
I’m sure anyone who doesn’t understand that tag probably wouldn’t understand alot of the other t-shirts with witty catch phrases. I wouldn’t worry about it.
Kudos!

Heh, you stole my idea! Oh, na you didn’t. You just got it up first. Great job with the layout.

thats gotta win dude that rocks

Errm… Can you technically sell it though? Love the design and all but… Can you technically sell it or does Nintendo have rights for the image?

I know, I know… I gotta crash the party and all… But just trying to think about all the possibilities…

LOVE the design though man… Don’t get me wrong… it’s awesome

yea for sure your right though…not sure how it works…I did actually construct it myself…its all made in illustrator with boxs representing the pixels etc. (which was painstaking but nice for when I wanted to adjust colors) doubt that matters though…do we have to sell it?..is that part of the gig?..i dunno if it disqualitfies thats cool, Ill try another.

I have my cafepress price to not make anything off the purchase too…i dunno

but anyways,

thanks for the nice comments everyone

You may want to check out this page: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/law.aspx Not sure though - but from what I was able to get from briefly glancing over it, using Nintendo’s copyrighted character may be a violation. Not 100% sure though.

I LOVE IT

ROFL!!!

I love it, and I TOTALLY got the <**/CONFUSION> line!

Maybe you could just add small text in there saying character copywrite nintendo??? I would hate for this to be disqualified because of that :frowning:

We already know that supree :sigh:

But I still wonder about if he adds text crediting the original owners (ie nintendo)… I wonder if they allow it then.

But probably not, they probably need concent from Nintendo themselves :frowning:

You never know though :thumb:

You should contact cafepress and ask them.

Umm… lost… I agree about the shirt… it’s a **** shame it has to be disquilified how it is… But alas, rules are rules… And no design is above the rules.

And… you can’t put a small piece of text copyrighting it to nintendo… Because you aren’t paying royalties to them for it… So the t-shirts aren’t making nintendo money, it is technically illegal…

Unfortunately… :frowning:

I think it would be best if he contacted cafepress about it :stuck_out_tongue:

Even if he set the price of the shirt at base price, Cafepress.com would still be making money.
I think it best if he contact Nintendo as well.
