OK. This is weird. As a lot of you know I have been having issues with getting working broadband connection since i live in the sticks.
Well, here is the thing. From my ONE cable provider in the area, I can get one way cable. Not like I’ve ever heard of that b4. Well, I talked to the dude last night and he said this is how it works:
Cable modem plugged into phoneline and cable wire, download is 600k over the cable and upload is 33k over the phone line. He told me that typically the upload speed was in fact around 30k. I think he might be on crack though. He also said that a 56k modem was like 56k. So I told him that duh, it was not 56kup, it is more like 3k up. So I really have no idea if he was just being stupid or if he really doesn’t know anything.
I know it’s ghetto cable, but it’s like, my only other option at this point. I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of one way cable or had any experience with it? I’ve been googling it, but I can’t find any good stuff and I don’t trust what the company says about it because as we have learned big companies are typically lying sacks of poo.
