UI Componants: scroll bar. Need help changing the skins

Hi,

I hope this thread helps others. Been searching google and here about a way of changing the skins that make up the scroll bar but I can’t find what I need. I’ve been reading through the help in flash and that is frying my brain. Has anyone got experience with this? Hope this next question is not silly. If I start mucking around with the Flash UI Componants folder skins will that transform tham globally? I mean when I start a new project with a scroll bar will the scroll bar componant, with its new skins be the same as I left it? Is it possible to duplicate the whole folder, make the skin changes and put them in the shared folder?

I am confused. I’ll keep on reading though the help on this in flash and if I get to grips with it I’ll post my understanding of it. Been reading and searching now for over an hour. I hope some one can help me out with understanding this.

thanks in advance

I have worked it out. I found a bit on Restoring default component skins. In the same document that I put a scroll bar componant in I made some skin changes with work I did in PS then I deleted that instance of the scroll bar from the stage. I then did the test. I dragged a new instance from the componants panel and wham, a warning box pops up. I get the option of restoring the default skins used by the Flash UI component! Excellent! Clearly the skins are not changed globally.

I just thought they were at first. Just me I suppose wanting to make sure that I was not about to destroy the skins. Good old macromedia thinks of everything.
