URGENT HELP REQ: SWF with sound

hi guys

after my previous post (which worked beautifully, by the way… and thanks!) i have now stumbled upon a new problem.

in short, i have a multi-scene movie which i wanted a single soundtrack to run through. that theory is now sorted with the help of a little actionscript.

my initial test was as follows:
9MB sound file
71MB FLA file (yes, that’s seventy-one…?)
400k SWF file (published)

now though, it’s a different story:
3MB sound file
4MB FLA file (same content as the previous, just a different sound file)
3MB SWF file (published)

what’s happening??? As a result, the 3MB SWF takes ages to load before playing. is it my sound settings? what should they be? confusion reigns…

ANY HELP / SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED!

Rob.

Did you change the way it’s compressed?

In Flash
File --> Publish Settings --> Flash (tab)

Now click the Generate Size Report check box.

Publish your file. You should get a long stream of information in your output box telling you exactly what’s taking up so much space! Once you’ve identified the problem it’s just a matter of fixing it!

Good luck!
