Video and Sound check

We have a requirement to check the video and sound settings on the user’s pc. We have a stand-alone cbt that is compiled as an .exe. Any ideas?

I am not sure what kind of you need with this video and sound settings… Can you explain what you need??? Does your projector run without any interaction with the server??? (If you do, there is no point of mentioning PHP here…)

Hey!

I saw your example called sysInfo.fla online - but we are making a cbt that runs on the user’s pc and not on a server. I have looked at your code and would love to modify it to use on a stand alone .exe but would not know how to…

also I have searched the web for a plug in that checks sysInfo…I thought that I had it nailed when I bought .swf studio but that only checks if a given filetype can be played…

I need to be able to return system information about a user’s pc and display it on the screen (on button click check the users system for info such as video settings, sound card, plugins etc.)

We are creating a cbt that runs on a users machine, not on a server, and we are not using any java or php.

I read your thread to playamarz and the info you send him appeared to be php.

Well… I do not know if that kind of specific multimedia settings can be optained via JavaScript or PHP… I think it is best for you to write, maybe, C++ program that does the job for you and return the result back to Flash… Not much of help I can give you on this part, I guess…
