My good lord, I have been missing out on one of the best apps ever made: http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net/
It basically implements the *nix X Window’s virtual desktop functionality. You get essentially 4 desktops that each has their own taskbar and set of windows. You can move them around at will. What amazes me is how ■■■■ fast and efficient this app is, compared to the horrible Powertoy provided by Microsoft (that one doesn’t even do unique taskbar for each virtual desktop).
This is really bloody useful, since I usually have open 2 editors, 4 explorers, 10 emails, a browser, 3-5 documents/pdfs, 2 chat windows, bittorrent, music player, and some other bs. With VirtuaWin I just put respective apps into different virtual desktops. All the development/coding/compiling stuff is on one, all documentation/research on another, all communication on one, all misc/music on yet another. AND DID I MENTION IT IS SO FAST!? Switching between these virtual desktops is just Win + Right/Left/Up/Down.
Go try it if you have 20+ windows open and can’t navigate among them properly. This is one of the best apps I have used, ever.
