Viruses | Trojans | Worms

Our image server has one of these, not quite sure. When we erase all the files it creates and restart the computer, all the files are back on. There is a message on the server saying “Hacked by [ ignorant hacker name here ]”. I forgot the exact name, but that does not matter.

Does Ad-aware seak out Trojans or Worms like this?

Some how it got past Norton!

Download AVG from grisoft.com, install, before you run rename avgw.exe to scan.exe for example and execute scan.exe. Should detect them. Norton doesn’t detect nothing.

Go to Symantec site and look for the new viruses. There might be a special tool available to cure it… Also they describe in detail the behavior of the virus/trojan/worm. If it is similar to what’s happening on your server, then it must be it.

Many good hackers can pass Norton like it wasn’t there. :m:

Norton Sucks period…

Try avg… Like stated above… or

Bitdefender…

Both are excellent products…

Ad-Aware kind-a skips over alot of stuff too…

Then search for…

Spybot

Grab the one that says Spybot : Search and Destroy… Install and run… ten times better than Ad-Aware
