The final results are up, so thanks to the judges who helped out narrowing the many entries into a smaller size. Each entry in the poll is a link to the image, but if you want a single page listing all of the entries click here.
Keep the voting fair, in other words, no IM’ing all of your friends to register and vote for your entry, etc. After all, this is all about having fun.

Cant believe i didn’t get on that list - sorry to say but some of them entries are pants.
Odyssey’s Forest gets my vote… it’s the only one i could consider well made. some choices for the poll are just disappointing… oh well… good luck.

I’m surprised as well, I really liked some of the stuff you did. 
Of course, my vote goes to Soaring Kirupa Plane, even if it doesn’t win, I would love for that to become an actual header.
Odyssey’s Forest gets my vote. I would like to see a whole theme in a light tan colour like that.
You can never tell who wins till kirupa goes through and filters out all the users that were created after the contest vote went up (only way to make it fair).

If you haven’t noticed, design is interpreted subjectively. So I guess the judges found your submissions to be “pants”.

Oh. I didn’t made into the list. But you can use mine for halloween. That was the idea after all.
By the way, the current existing header is pretty good, too. But I like New and Improved for it’s simplicity.
I’m not one to like dark layouts, dark sites, however… I can’t seem to turn away from the Classy look, I think that it’s just ‘sharp’ and clean. But it was between that or the Forest one… and I went with Classy.
Good luck to everyone chosen! None of my entries made it. I think the judges were looking for clean, simplicity and that’s not really what I offered.
I voted blue because it caught my eye for some reason. I almost voted for red, because it was also really nice.

Just because your entries did not make it into the poll does not mean that they won’t find their way into styles.
There is a certain degree of overlap between this contest and the styles that you are bound to see created for the forums, but that doesn’t mean that the only styles you will see are ones that feaure the above entries
Huh, most of the entries I voted for made it! Good to see the rest of the judges on the same page as me.
Classy is very typical web 2.0 let’s overgloss everything and doesn’t fit kirupa at all imo.
^Yep doubt there will be a full theme for that one being made anytime soon.
I like the light coloured web 2.0 sites… so a full tan forest theme would be perfect.
Odyssey’s forest looks the best individually, but blue just seems to fit - especially with the vista looking search bar.
