VPN on XP PRO?

Hey this might be crazy but I want to be able to share some files with my parents computer. Is there a way I could allow her to VPN/WAN to my computer? I basically would like the end result to be something like a LAN where we can share folders, but we are not in the same house! Any help would be awsome!

We both are running XP Pro…and have a Static IP from our Cable provider?

Perhaps someone could explain the differences between VPN and WAN? Or is it that a VPN is a type of WAN!? :puzzle: :puzzled:

a VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a type of technology that lets you “route” (so to speak) one network through another securely - my dad works at Oracle and he uses it all the time to connect for email and things.

If you just want to share files, I’d look into ftp or http and a free .info domain :slight_smile: VPNs are really more for the corporate dudes.
