I am interested in creating 2 websites for myself. Before I start, I have so many questions. If you have answers to any, I would greatly appreciate it.
The first website is a personal portfolio, which will be more artistic. The second one, I would like to make a basic site. I just returned from a group trip and I wanted to create a ftp site so everyone on the trip could upload their photos. this is so we can post our pictures (possibly everyone will have their own separate folder) that way we will have the real file size so a site like ofoto.com cannot shrink the file size.
purchasing/hosting:
What do you recommend I should do? why do sites like register.com charge $40 a year while sites like godaddy only charge $8?
for the ftp site, should I purchase my own server? any recommendations on how i should create this site?
design:
for designing my portfolio site, should i create everything in photoshop, then slice it up? how you get started?
