Website for cats Completely new

Hi people I recently made this after i came back from the hospital “grown”
im ok though

ok i have had some emails that the teplate (design) dont go so ill better be 100% sure before i wander off into CSS world again.

ok here it is in its full glory! Website

Please tell me whatta u think! Thanks !

=)

well its certainly good that you are trying to make it yourself now…thats one step in the right direction

Pfft, I made kirupa.com:kommie:

Nice that your starting to make stuff yourself, but still might need a bit of work. Just out of interest, how old are you mate?

11

they are both tempelates… I guess they are also free

for god sake at least change a few lines in the code and add a ■■■■ pet to the index page. If it’s about dogs and cats it shouldn’t look this way, it’s more like an useles blog’s common design than a place where animal lovers could meet and spend their time

lol forgot to check the other pages  anyway

yeah, it looks more like a blog. hey chris, have you tried w3’s tutorials?
http://www.w3schools.com/

ok i read every comment, i have made another design in photoshop ok here it is Website

bancomicsans.com

chris… no offence but ur designs just arent working. you cant make a decent looking website in 5 mins. just take ur time. look at some of the sites posted under the “Kool Sites” part of kirupa and you’ll be golden!!. you gotta learn some cool tricks and some nice effects before you can make a decent website too so i would suggest just fidling around with photoshop and learning how to use glows, gradients, filters and borders.

How can you say no offense, while saying something offensive?

Chris, just keep trying. Practice makes perfect. :thumb:

because i dont mean it personally. i was saying as a general statement that he is not taking enough time to work on his projects.

Your latest one is by far ur best so far. And your getting better. Prob still needs a lot of work, but i can see your making some progress at least.

yea this new design is an improvement…as said, keep at it an you will increase your skills…

but i will stress again how important it is to look at good sites and analyse them…most of us can tell when we look at a cool site - but a good designer can understand and explain why some sites are awesome and some suck…

immerse yourself in good design and you will start to grow, immerse yourself in crap and you will stink

this one was by far the best. Try cat colors though… take some pictures of a cat and use their colors… like cream and smooth colors. Also try http://www.behr.com use their color smart tool to put together some nice colors to use in your site. It works very well for me

nice job though, your improving

or color lovers for the palettes :stuck_out_tongue:

another good site for color schemes is http://colorblender.com/ - jsut pick a color and it will generate 5 other good matches…

Well I guess this last one was the best outta what you have… but it’s still not very good. But it’s a much better outcome than previous attempts.

I took a look at your coding, and I’m glad to see you’re goin the web standard route. A few things that you need to do.

Any image that you have on your site needs to have an alt tag
http://www.w3.org/QA/Tips/altAttribute explains what it does if you didn’t already know.

Also, in your CSS… you have .style1, .style2, .style3. You need to get into the habit of naming your classes and id, to something that relates to what it’s modifying. If I just asked you what .style6 did on your site would you really know what it was? Now if you had .liststyle or sth in place of it you could easily say, that’s styles the list.

On your site you can’t give credit to google or sxc, you NEED to give credit to the authors, not the search engines you found them in.

lol, that comment is so cute…

Chris, I admire you that you are still trying… when so many people made some bad comments, including me…

anyway… good luck… and cheers…
