"What the...?" II

uhh, maybe it’s me being dumb…

I was on the “Who’s online” page, and I saw this:

“JohnLawton | Moderating duties”

What exactly is “moderating duties”…?

'cuz that’s what the dude was doing… :-\

*edit: He’s still at it, here:

Maybe he’s Phil in disguise?

More plausibly, perhaps he’s a guy from the company (or whatever) that provides these forums?

but Kirupa bought this forum, does that give the creators the right to just come in and change everything…?

or… maybe K asked him to… :-\

odd…

Microsoft doesn’t have the right to just come knocking on my door and start formatting my pc just because they feel like it…

I.E…

I don’t know who they are? Either way, nobody has access to moderating duties except us - strange =)

Cheers!
Kirupa :rambo:

hmm… :-\

Yes, I have seen that happen a lot.

The best I can tell is that the link at the bottom of profiles is still there for non-mods, and they are trying to get in to see what it is about.

hehe…

As long as they can’t see it…

The problem of vBulletin is that when, for this case, ‘JohnLawton’ is using Moderating Duties, He will get a permission page and on Who’s Online You’ll find that he’s using this feature, but he’s actually not! Same for anyone trying to access a forum above their Priority level.

Moderating Duties is the listbox below each thread posts. (Admin Options)

lol, why the hell do they stay on that page for such a long time? :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL yeah, staring on that permission page looks funny tho.
