I am almost certain most of you grew up with (or discovered) tech in the 1990’s. Post your favorite moment here. For bonus points, post a screenshot instead!
I have fond memories of creating a website using Adobe PageMill. I wanted a button to make a sound when I clicked on it and I asked on a forum and some amazing wizard sent me Javascript code that would play an .au file on click.
A short while later, my other fond memory is when FutureWave software released the FutureSplash plugin. I built a website using that. Later that became Flash, and the start of many opportunities for me, eventually starting Confidant Communications.
@AlteredEgg - that is amazing! That you have a video of it after all these years is even more so
@kirupa Thanks! I had the site archived and was able to open the swf and record it using QuickTime player.
You should consider hosting the SWF file again and use the Ruffle player to have it work on all of our browsers
Well, I’m not ready to re-publish that site but I can tickle your Ruffle fancy a little…
Ruffle drops a few things like shape tweening but overall is not too bad.
In general, AIM and Yahoo! chat.
I’ve said it before, but 3Dmm baby!
Bonus points if you remember your screenname on AIM!
Mine was kirupacom. Not very original, I know.
haha! I loved that tool. I never knew what to do with it, but it was on my computer and I tried it out just for fun
