Why won't the XML-fed news ticker wrap long lines?

I’m hitting the forums because I’m not much of a coder and I’m stuck. I’m working with the flash news ticker tutorial here:

and the thing jams up when my text is too long to fit as a single line within the text box! Can’t figure it out. If anyone can see a problem with the code, or suggest a better way to do a nice news ticker, please help!

Set the textfield to multiline?

Text is set to multithread. If there are too many caracters, the banner just gets stuck on itself and wont move to the next item. Any ideas?
