Windows 2003 server

anyone else trying this out??? if so what do you guys think??

me like it… simple as that…

ya me 2 its great, so far lol

i didnt even know there WAS a new win2k3 server lol. never really thought about it lol.

hell i dont even know what my sserver is, i let the host worry about that

i just got the install cd yesterday! =)

I’ll be setting up a test server at work and giving it a go. I hear
lots of great things about it tho. I love win2k server, and I really
love XP, so let’s get it on with Server XP (essentially).

This should be fun. I’ll post more when I get it going.

I want it so bad… =( im thinking of buying the webserver edition, its like 500 bucks, not bad considering i dont need it to be the Primary Domain controler for my tiny network lol =) And why do i need 25 cals for a webserver? MS got smarter this time =)

I got the free Limited edition, it rejects all my hardware on my server. Yeh it is a sequrity thing so you can crack it from the net or something but I mean I was learning how to set it up etc… Now I wont know if I have done it right for WWW usage 'cos of some silly sequrity thing! Anyway ill buy the real one eventually.

I use win2K server advanced, I would have to see some major improvements to migrate to win2003 server… I suppose I should go to the lab and mess with it, but I am so tired lately.

Cheers!

is there any were that gives you FREE access to a windows 2003 server i need to test some ASP.NET pages and 2003 have the IIS and Framework built in.

anyone

i think you can sign up for a free trial, i got mines personally from a seminar that they raffled a few MS Appz i was lucky enought to get the win2k3 server enterprise edition :beam: i really wanted visual studio.net but i got the server so its all good :beam:

get more info here

going to back to another tread i can’t set up the IIS or Framework on my Windows XP home edition OS.

i just need someone to provide me with FTP access to a windows 2003 server so i can upload some .aspx pages and test them out.

or i have to pay like 100+ a year just to learn it. i no i no, i’m cheap but i’m only 17 and don’t have a credit card so i have you use my mums and she has no credit so i am stuck between a rock and a hard place.

so does ANYWERE or ANYONE have a windows 2003 server i can get access to so i can upload my work and test it out.

Yeh chris9902 I was really really really annoyed when I found out I had to buy XP Prof or something else to be able to get IIS. It was a bummer but then I guess I expected too much from the windows server 2003 trial. My friend had 2003 running ill see if he can lent you a couple of MB on his server and then ill post back.

that would be so great i just need to test some database files and some .aspx files when i finish them.

i don’t care if he can see them there not going to be privite, they are just tests

thanks alot man:)

Well he said that his whole server farm conked out in a lightning storm (He lives in canada) but I think he is just being gready to share something with someone he doesn’t know. Sorry mate, I would share with you if my piece of crap trial would let me go on the net! Grr never mind though. Oh I did think of something that might help is the Webmatrix Personal Web Server thing. It only take local requests so noone on the net would be able to view them, however it would allow you to test your .aspx pages. That how I started out. Here is the addy ASP.NET - Microsofts ASP.NET page On the top tab click webmatrix then download now (Hope you can take it from here)

P.S Before you say it I multiboot with XP and 2003 trial thats how I can go on the net

it’s ok man

i think i will just pay for my hosting
