Windows Loading Problems

Hey guys.

I have owned this Dell Vostro 1500 for just over a year and have had nothing but problems with it since I got it. This problem has come up before, but I sent it back to Dell under warranty and they supposedly changed the RAM, Hard Drive, and mother board. The following happened only 4 days after getting it fixed…

What happens is my computer locks up (mouse freezes, sounds repeat; like skipping, etc) even when I’m not using it. From here it experiences regular BSODs, sometimes up to 4 a day, but when I go through the event viewer it shows no errors…

Now things just get worse. Something spazzes out my computer (same as what happened last time), and once this happens it takes forever to load. I see the windows XP loading screen for, and I timed it, 6 minutes - which was faster than usual. Furthermore, I still experience the BSODs and system lockups regularly.

I ran chkdsk and (without /f or /r specified) it says that windows has found problems :
These errors vary.

One time it said

CHKDSK discovered free space marked as allocated in the master file table
MFT bitmap

along with these messages that show every time

Correcting errors in the Volume Bitmap.
Windows Found Problems with the file system.
Run chkdsk with the /f (Fix) option to correct these.

However when I specify the /r or /f parameter I need to restart before it runs, which is fine BUT this process takes 9-15 HOURS!!! to complete just to tell me that “Windows did not find any problems”! and it just restarts.

I know it’s not a virus, malware, or adware. I’m thinking this is more along the lines of a hard drive problem - But Dell will not return ANY of the emails which I (frequently) send them.

Very unimpressed by both the quality and service provided by Dell on this one.

NOTE: I rarely use this computer - All that is on it is Office, Nero, Avast! AntiVirus, AdAware, and VIDEO_TS files, but uni goes back tomorrow and I will be relying on it as my only computer (as I live on-campus).
