Ok, for the past couple months now, I have had to resort to replacing my explorer shell with WindowsBlinds and LiteStep. The reason for this is because all of a sudden in mid-june the task ‘explorer.exe’ started using up 100% of my CPU usage whenever I would start up my computer.
You are all thinking “oh, he has malware/spyware/adware/viruses”. Well, I don’t. I even went to the extent of reformatting my harddrive, which took FOREVER since explorer.exe was using all my physical memory. After the reformat, it was still acting up even before I burned my files back on my computer.
So, after installing the LiteStep shell (which disables explorer.exe shell), my computer has been acting great and working better than ever. Now the problem is that I can’t use anything that needs explorer.exe running. (Ex.: CD burner, explorer window, search function, etc. . )
Basically, if anyone here knows what to do or has any ideas that I haven’t tried, please tell me.
I’m hoping this thread will solve my problem, as the school year is starting and I **need **my CD burner functioning.
Thanks for any and all of your help in advance! :thumb2:
