Working with print designers/art directors

I work at a small design agency, and I’m pretty much the only “web guy” here. I generally work with art directors and designers who, while they are awesomely talented, don’t have much experience in the web. So, when they’re designing, they often don’t think of things like which fonts are ok to use for body text, or how a layout will expand to handle varying amounts of content… things like that.

I have been given the important-yet-sometimes-frustrating task of making sure the art director knows about all of this stuff, and ensuring that their designs are logical and will fit the goals of the project, with the technical stuff in mind. So I’ve been asked to start coming up with a list/guide/whatever that will help our print designer ease into Web design with some of these important little caveats.

Anyway, I’m assuming I’m not the first person who has been in this position, so I’m wondering if any of you know of some sort of guide like this that I can use and add to, if need be… So I’m not reinventing the wheel by building one from scratch.

Thanks
