I was given the challenge of building an animated flash application so people could watch the World Cup live on the web. It’s been used on various sites on my comanys network of sporting sites and I was also asked to make a version for the ITV website (It’s a TV channel for those not from the UK).
www.itv-football.co.uk - click “World Cup Live Draw” from the menu on the left.
It all runs from 1 simple XML file that is controlled via a simple drop down menu. All the admin has to do is select the country that has just been drawn, select a group (A-H) then select where they will sit i.e. position 1, 2, 3 or 4…then hit submit.
Once this has been done the flash file will update the XML every 10 seconds and any country that has been submitted will fly from their current position on the right to its spot in the Groups…It’s all quite simple but because I’m no expert with AS at the mo so this is quite cool for me!

Since I use kirupa quite abit n wouldn’t have got this far with flash without it and all its friendly and helpful people on this forum I’d like to know what you think. Feel free to ask any questions.
