I like the fact that they say no cgi is involved, and yet we see tires rolling UP HILL from a VERY gentle tap, at a VERY steep angle… :-/
screw that…
Oh yeah ive seen him before! its awsome!
and yet we see tires rolling UP HILL from a VERY gentle tap, at a VERY steep angle… :-/
haha, yeah i mentioned that too
Wow, just wow. What a commercial. Gotta hand it to those people.
As for the tires, here’s what it says on the site:
…The sequence where the tires roll up a slope looks particularly impressive but is very simple. Steiner says that there is a weight in each tire and when the tire is knocked, the weight is displaced and in an attempt to rebalance itself, the tire rolls up the slope
its an awesome ad…
found another old ad there this is nice too http://www.steelcitysfinest.com/Isuzu.htm
heh nice, I like the isuzu one even more (I mean the commercial not the car) :P, but maybe that’s cuz I’ve seen the other one on TV too many times
$6m is the most expensive? What about the Chanel advert with Nicole Kidman? She alone got paid $4m… the advert cost $60m I believe.
Honda do make awesome ads though - they’re normally quite long and very innovative.
the speakers pumping look really fake though as well as the cg spark that lights up when the stereo turns on- maybe there was SOME cg
awesome ad! i can’t believe there was no cg! but, why the hell did they spend $6million when they could have done a cg one for less?
like darkmotion said i smell a cg rat in there somewhere
Theres no CGI involved. The tires are weighted and everything else is completely real. You can find more movies like this from the people that originally did this online somewhere Im sure.
And I dont believe for a second that its the costliest commercial ever made.
the director (antoine jacquet) was actually as cg artist before directing and he’s done nice video clips of french artist (one including an extensive use of typography)
can’t believe it cost $6M though !
those speakers look extremely cg…the director is probably rubbing his hands in glee at his little joke - its probably a publicity stunt
[ot]wasn’t the song “another one bites the dust”?[/ot]
Um aren’t superbowl commercials like a million a second? I know I’m exagerating, but the point is that that’s probably not nearly the most expensive. 6m is pocket change to big corporations.
I too doubt that this is the most expensive ad, but those Superbowl commercials are only expensive because of the cost of the time slot. They say that it was the most expensive to make, which again is probebly false, but doesn’t take into consideration the placement costs of the project, just R&D
I doubt it’s the most expensive, but I’m 100% confident there’s no CG.
yeah!! I too think may its not the costliest Ad.
But since its random I ignored to verify the facts.

i am amazed somany of you hav’nt seen it before? it was posted here a while ago too…nice ad and its debatable on cg issue really
I’ve seen it before.
