xAI filing this 72 hours before the law hits is doing a lot of work

I get the free speech argument xAI’s making, but filing three days before Minnesota’s nudify ban takes effect feels less like a principled stand and more like someone hoping a judge panics. If this was actually unconstitutional, wouldn’t you file before the law passes, not when it’s already written?

The weird part is that the competing interests here are real. Free expression vs. protecting people from non-consensual deepfakes. Those things actually are in tension.
