I don’t think there’s a best site on the internet. But I think these sites are at the same level (and sometimes a bit higher) than the new version of 2A:
www.neostream.com
and even one of their own creations maybe: www.taigkhris.com
etc…

hmm you are right !
Nice new site! However, I don’t think I like that spaceshippy thing they have in the background. Their vector animation always impressed me. Seeing this may need some getting used to.
Now time to sit back and wait for everyone to copy this site now.
I think the dimensions of the new site is too large is went out over 1024x768!
Is it just me or does the layout resemble the flash MX interface? I think the way everything is layed out is similar to the way the palettes in flash MX is layed out.

actually, i think you’re right. Their layout is very much cluttered like FlashMXs.
lol, sen.
Well.
2advanced studios are perhaps the most famous developers of flash sites today, a very “commercial” company, almost a brand name.
Thereis no doubt that they have a lot of skill, and i was indeed one of those who looked forward to seeing their new v4 site.
After viewing the site, this is what i think:
Nice colours
Wayyyy too complex. That’s not the point of flash to see how many simultaneous movie clips can be played at once.
Takes ages to load - even on broadband. You wait hoping for something great and all you get is a fancy transition, and a revamped version of their old pages.
Transition effects are very very cool. NO doubt about it.
They should leave out the attempts at 3d.
All in all there is no doubt it is visually very appealing. But it is too cluttered, complex and a lot of it shouldn’t even be there. To be honest i thought v3 was just about pushing on unneccesarry, this is just “WHOA - where am i supposed to be looking?!”
Anyway, the colours are nice
To be honest, this is nothing new, just more of the same. You have to realise how many people are working for 2advanced. This will spawn a lot of copycat sites, which we don’t need.
I believe a lot of originality and individuality is lost when working in fancy teams. Look at electrongeeks page…i prefer that any day of the week.
Ahh well, this was just my humble opinion. I would love to read what the rest of the mods and mr kirupa think.
I think www.billybussey.com is way much better! :-\
There’s really nothing new to 2Aa design!
Well, it’s finlly loaded up.
I’m hoping that this will grow on me, because my first impression isn’t that great… I like the two colours they’ve used, but I’m not convinced they work all that well together. Maybe that’s just me. I like them combined in the preloaders on the white background, but when they cover the whole page it’s just too heavy for my liking. Meh. Purely a subjective opinion though…
But my biggest gripe would be that it’s not that big a departure fom their last site. They’ve moved things round a little and given it a new set of colours, but basically it’s pretty much the same. I loaded up the Taig Khris site as well, and whilst it was very good, it’s all a bit same-y as the 2A site.
I can’t deny that there’s obviously a lot of thought, hard work and code into this, and the transitions and graphics are indeed beautiful. But in all the time I’ve just spent looking at it, not once did I go “wow”. :sigh:
2A is nothing but what it was before and a couple of new bells and whistles. I expected nothing less.
And I cant say I think billybusey.com is all that great either. Its just Flashy 3D thrown on the screen. I dont consider that alone to make a great site. Yes, its very cool flashy 3D, but its just flashy 3D. I dont see too much else in design or interactivity beyond that.
When I look at the new site again I kinda see all the styles which are used by alot of ppl right now. But nothing new, nothing special what could catch my eye.
Afterall I think they just wanted to make the site the favorite site of many many ppl by including all the modern stuff. But actully in some way, it doesn’t fit.

Yup. It’s the look, the layout, and particularly the way the open and close.

Very true, unfortunately. Someone can make the exact same site sans the 3D and animations.
I don’t think the bar has been raised that much higher with this new site/layout. In all essence, it’s just eye candy, but apparently, that’s what’s been popular these days.

Now we have a chance to catch up. Well atleast die trying. =)
NOrmally, I’d feel bad about lambasting a site like this, because they did work hard on it. However, 2Advanced has bought into their own hype, and the advertising/hooking up with a corporate sponsor that happened pretty much put their neck on the chopping block.
:pope:
Foiled by hype ONCE AGAIN!
Curse you hype!
yeah i expected a whole new thing, this is just the old site with a face lift. although the colours are amazing, and so are the transitions…its the old site…hype is the word here. ik just cant wait to see FI’s new site…you know they now have to top them…hheeh. dont get me wrong 2a has an amazing site, but billy’s site tops it w/o trying…just not what i expected…i mean they had a party!!!
try 18. and its not what you expect. its the old 2a on sterioids.
