Well I don’t know too much about it, but Flash Communication Server is a server-side thing you can install, and it is much more powerful than ASP and PHP I believe. They use it to make the content of their site fully dynamic. You would have to ask one of the server side geniuses here more about how it actually all works (a3, eyezburg, sen ???), all I know is it is powerful, expensive, and almost impossible to find a host who will let you install it
kickarse dan, thanks for the link.
thanks for the explanation, and the link
flash comm is the shizznit…ya’ll should dwnload the trial ver
flash comm rocks, but you need to have a great server to install it :-/ ahmed has it…
I am running it on my desktop actually if you have XP pro or something you should have IIS, you can test stuff there.
i got XP home :-/
yea i actually have it, i downloaded it when i installed coldfusion, the only thing i know how to do is to connect to the gateway server
yup… FlashComm kicks butt, but i believe they used Flash Remoting MX for the backend though =)
FlashComm is for multiuser apps only, specially those requiring real-time data sharing, and it’s not a substitue for php or asp. I assume they used FlashComm for the “chat live with a sales agent” feature =)
a3: If you read their news textbox it says they use both Flash Remoting and a Flash Comm Server
lol i know, i just said that they wouldn’t use flashcomm for a backend, but rather flash remoting, they must’ve used flashcomm for the sales agent feature (which is always offline :sigh: )
oh… boocha boocha
Gotcha…

Has anyone watched the demo reel yet. i thought it was pretty cool, but it took a while to load
I waited for about 15 minutes for it last night but gave up in the end…
EG, i thought it resembled MX as well… Just the way sections collapse is very reminiscent of MX…
ok, visited 2a again (some bugz dissapeared, but most of them still appear)
checking rest of “bugz” right now
oh
as for my “archaic machine”:
