Sounds good to me.
Sounds good to me.
i think iāll loose
I forgot to mention about texturing. I think that we can be pretty liberal here, if you want to make your own textures (photoshop or whatever) or use the defaults. Everyone ok with that?

I am
yeah, sure, why not, but i donāt know how to do that . So i am going to have to improvise
. Can you tell me how to get a path into this program? everytime i try exporting a path from photoshop, and then importing it into Swift, it says that the path is not defined?? or filled?? and it canāt be imported, hope you donāt mind giving the competition some help
i dont think you can use photoshop paths, at least thats what i think from what ive read⦠the paths that swift reads are .eps and i think that comes from illustrator⦠im kinda clueless but its somthing like that
hawk
(btw, anyone know any good illustrator tuts?)
I theory you should be able to export paths from photoshop as *.ai and then import them into swift.
To add textures to 3d objects in swfit, click and drag the bitmap texture from the bottom right onto the object and choose the bitmap that you want to add as a texure. The rendered output will have to be set to raster before it shows up in the rendered image. You can set the mapping type by editing the material.
i have tried exporting an .ai, but it never works. When importing, it says, and i quote, āAn error has occurred attempting to import the specified file. This error is most commonly caused by attempting to import a file that does not contain outlined or filled shapes.ā
have you tried exporting it as a .ai version 7 file?
What do you mean by 7? Here is what i do, i open a new transparent doc in PS, then i use the pen tool to make a shape. After that, i right click and say fill path. Then i go to File > Export > Paths to Illustrator, then i save it as a .ai file. When i go to Swift and try importing, it says that there is no fill or outline. :-\ anyone know how to solve this :q: :bounce:
ah k. I use illustrator to export the paths. And in illustrator you can save as older versions of the file. such as i mention Illustrator 7 file. this sometimes needs to be done , so to be compatible with other apps, such as Swift3d.
::::This is not the case with the new swft3d v3 because i just tried it. :-\
Give me a sec ill try to help you out.
dosent look like you can. sorry dude. :-\
Alternately you could draw the paths in the extrusion editor of Swift. Itāll have the same result ultimately.
smart thinking, i forgot about that , lol
i was tracing over some logoās, i can use the E editor, but i find it more useful to import a path. Thanks
Hey, can I participate too?
If I can, would you like to give me more explenation about the theme?:cyclops:
You might have to contact a moderator, Iām sure they should be able to include you. There is a sticky post with the rules called swift 3d battle.

otherwise consider yourself in. Id like to take a swing at it too, but I have next to no free time. If I ever find any maybe Ill do something and throw it in with the rest.
Yeah, iām kind of busy too, iāll see what i can make by the 25th
Looks like weāre all in the same boat then. Iām flat out and Iāve fiddled with only a couple of ideas. Have to see what I can get done over easter!
I love a good challenge.:goatee:
