A few questions

  1. are some of the tutorial sections in flash mx on this site down for anyone else? I can’t get to the special effects section :frowning:

  2. I get the concept of using the scrollbar component in flash mx to make a dynamic input text scrolling field thingy . . . .but how about a custom scroll bar? or just up and down buttons to control the text scroll. I found tutorials for flash 5, but they dont seem to work for mx.

  3. I’m a newbie to the forum and to flash . . please be gentle!

Now to answer you questions:

  1. Kirupa just switched to a new host so there is probably still some issues that needs to be worked out, but I’m sure it will be cleared up soon. I tried the link for the special effects too and it didn’t work so don’t worry, it’s not you.

  2. If you want just scroll buttons then read this thread.

actually i was reading that thread last night . .and I am somewhat confused as to the process . . .

i dont want to just copy the code and wail away.
