It looks like a lot of things happened when flash went. Many were using flash for creating games and heavy interactions. These people have moved to Unreal engine or unity. I did not know that until I read about it on a gaming magazine.

Yeah! The more technical among them definitely went that route. ThreeJS (created by mrdoob) is popular among that crowd as well. Many went back to static visuals or video-output animation. Sadly, many left the industry altogether.

Gaming is hard and some countries invest heavily in that tech. Depending where you are located, the job market might be concentrated on react while other areas in gaming. Web dev is vastly more popular. Where I live, they only have one gaming company in the whole country.
