About Forms

ok. I’m the easily-frustrated type. so here I am on the ‘other’ computer writing. This prevents me from dropping my design computer from a very high altitutde onto the head of anyone I can find at the macromedia company.

FORMS:

  • you cannot export your classes on frame 2, because you never see the _root timeline in a flash Form document.

  • registration points (where your creations should load) are a chaotic ****ing disaster. I’m looking at an mc which is sitting at 0,0 (the top left corner of the form it’s on) the mc just below it (on the same form) says it’s at -984, 603. To the eye, this isn’t happening. Also, if you load an swf into a Form, it will appear wherever it wants to.

  • If you load assets (swf, mp3, etc, etc) into a form, it IS NOT CACHED. AT ALL. You have to reload it every time you need it.

Can I have some input (NOT a redirection to some generic discussion about ‘how to use forms and slides’) ?

Did I make the wrong assumption when I saw Forms as a new means of ‘MasterMovie’ ?

I mean, they are extensions of the Loader Class, and do not load material where you want.
They are pretty big in size when empty, and yet they have no way to load Classes on any other frame than 1.

so Right now, my conclusion is that a flash Form Application doesn’t make a very good ‘MainMovie’.
which raises the question: who made these worthless things and what is their purpose?
