Adding background music to a site!

Hey all!

I would like to add some background music to my flash portfolio site. Does any of you guys know where I may find a good tutorial on how this can be done? Also, do you know the best method to achieve this? I know there are potentially allot of options out there. Is an audio stream the best solution to keep the file size down?

Thanks for the help everyone!

the filesize is nothing to do with wether you stream it or not - its how you compress it that counts.

use mp3, depending on the type of music you might be able to get away with 56KB/s, 21,000KHz stereo - or even mono

Wrong forum. Audio stream is if you want something to be in sync e.g. lip movements and speech.
Is this a single tune of a player?

This is a No Nio. If you do then have it be defualt turned off

sound isnt a no-no - annoying sound that is obtrusive is…like said, probably best off by default tho

^When listtenign to Metallica or somthing then getitng somthign played over it is annoying

 yea…

yolkSac wants to add background music, so I doubt he/she is looking for a discussion on the benefits and drawbacks of having it (there are plenty of threads about that already).

Streaming the file would lower the initial load time of the site, as you wouldn’t have to load the music right away.
