After effects and flash

whats the best and smallest way to take a movie done in after effects and bring it into flash ? I’ve tried a qucktime file … 120 MB and a PNG sequence and that totaled 80MB … there got to be a way to get a small 30 second movie from after effects to flash with out big file sizes

:bad:

30 seconds?!?!? Hah! Good luck :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

j.k, suggestion: Export a JPG sequence, and it will still be massive. Seriously, try to keep your AE animations under 5 seconds, I never use anything over 2.5 seconds actually. The file sizes are just too big. (depending on the height/width of the animation) and it sounds like you want transparency too.

u can play around with the compression setting in AE, say you create a sorenson compression .mov , then you play around with the quality settings that may drop the size,

but i would try to let flash compress the video, import the 120MB file and import it into flash using soreson spark. The file size should be much smaller when its in it swf format.

but like colin said, 30 seconds might be too long for a AE created file, that would really take your site to a only broadband users kinda deal.

thanks for the input… I’m trying to get this AE tutorial Animation into flash http://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e/ae29_e.html

at a resolution of 320x240 and rougly 30 seconds of it…

well time to install soreson squeeze to see if that helps… get the size down…

thanks for the advice…

export to wmv, import to flash, voila

works for me! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
