I just thought this guy was worth mentioning, he does some amazing interface work. I figured I’d put it into this forum for a little inspiration on how smooth it loads.
I will admit, the LAYOUT is nice, but OMG… those colors have GOT to go!
It is eye straining and everything blends together making it hard to see what your doing and keep track of where you are.
I agree with lost, the colors hurt your eyes after awhile and it’s hard to make out what is what on that page. I’ve actually seen this site before, it’s nothing new, in fact it’s been up for awhile now. I give him props for the concept, but as for ease of use, that’s something he needs to improve. It looks nice, but it’s very confusing.
I think the orange on black is awesome and so is the layout

Orange on Black is a good color combination… but not that much. There needs to be a contrast color or something.
i agree, it does look nice using the orange and black theme but it would look nicer to me if he used it just with the borders, headings and some of the shapes , but with the content it needs to be much more legiable.
Type needs to stand out more. He could of used a white background on some places, with its opacity droped down to about 70. That could break it up and give off a really nice touch. and then on top of the white could of used black type.
Whoa…
Yeah the design of this is absolutely amazing and I really like the graphics on it. You can tell the guy has spent ages on it.
I’m not convinced about the orange though. It’s a bit… I dunno really. Maybe something more LCD style would have worked better? I’m not sure. I don’t hate the colour, but neither does it make me jump for joy.
too much elements grouped in a small space, with a color scheme that didn´t help a bit.
If it was black and white it would be easier to navigate, but not much.
Wow, thats full, but nice. I think its just too packed…
Yea the colors aren’t much - and I’ll admit. But I think the concept is amazing. There’s a lot that he needs to do I would imagine but I think there is tons of cool potential.
i found that it was a bit hard to work out what did stuff (buttons etc) and what was just for looks. Obviously if you spend some time it’s easy enough, but i think nav is always better if it’s clear
also, the animations really slow down the process. When i clicked to minimise a panel, waiting a full 3+ seconds is slightly annoying
having said all that, it LOOKS really cool, and i think that while orange and black can be a bit hurty, at least it’s not another blue/grey site
i really liked it as well…
Well, I ain’t the more experienced viewer in the world and I couldn’t really judge but imo, this interface looks really professional. This guy could make career as an interface maker… for games or applications. But yes, it’s kind of old mainframe style a little with this orange color. Just my thought… I ain’t an expert so don’t take this for granted.
im going to agree w/ alex26; I think its a very nice interface, looks like it took a while to do. but, the colors are just to much.
Its very busy too, which is not bad, but I dont too much care for all the stuff everywhere. Its pretty cool though. Nice.
its cool…but yeah the colors…maybe neon green coupled with the orange…
dan go buy my ring on ebay…
impressive, and if you like the micro techno detaily sort of interface its cool, but most of its just (orange) chrome…
obviously, color is a subjective thing, judging from the other responses–maybe it’d be a good thing to put in a color tool to let the viewer select their favorite color from a palette, and then use
shared objects or a cookie to hold their pref for them…
