First off, visit Ray of Light , one of the best Flash eye-candy sites out there.
Next, click a season. After it loads, watch the animation for the graphic. Very nice, but thats not what this is about.
Watch the way the section title appears (“Spring” or “Summer” etc.). It’s kind of like the old Ray of Light affect, but way better.
Any ideas on how this works?

Yes indeed, that site was well crafted and very eye catching. Theres a section in the tutorials that talks about that site. Here’s the link.

Yeah, that one is obvious imported video or Photoshop images though. It can’t be done in Flash alone.

Suga is soooo great at Flash. I wish he would join the forum, but I’m sure he is extremely busy. He was my very first inspiration for Flash

If what lost said is the case then its possible to make that effect in a 3d program using something called volume metric lighting and just have an animation of the light moving in behind text and it would make that effect. Of course theres other things you have to set up too, but thats the basic principle.
