hit up nokrev
i dont know who that is…
I dont own one, but i’ve used them alot. The pro apps, as long as your using the universal upgrades, work great. I didn’t notice any difference from the originals.
I agree, talk to Nokrev, the local mac obsessor (Jeff). His kF name is Nokrev. I’ll try and smack him to this thread when he gets online for you
there are no upgraded apps yet for the (apple) intel line yet, thats why I was asking. At least for the Adobe/Macromedia apps - which are commonly used - And kinda what I was looking for - but I didnt indicate so.
Which universal apps were you using?
I’ve used Logic Pro, Logic Express, Final Cut Pro, and Aperature.
btw, they are all avaliable as universal now.
Oh, and i have used the universal CS2 suite, it works great as well:)
A universal CS2 suite???
you mean a windows version - running boot camp?
Where’d you get it?
haha, yeah and I got the new 64 bit intel quad duo 5.0Ghz with 10GB Ram with a ADI Radeon x1Mill 5GB RAM…Ive been using it for a while…Been running native apps and whatnot…oh and 8" plasma screen 120GB ipod nano video
Defective does TechSupport at Apple (I think), so he is probably being serious C:-)
Does that mean if I call tech support a bunch of times, I might end up talking to you?
Oh thanx Kirupa, now you let the cat out of the bag:D I don’t actually answer to phone, I tell those people how to do their job:)
Edit: well, you might but only until my quota is filled.
So then you’re a superguy at support! Can I have a free MacBook, just for the heck of it?
Yes, there are actually three on their way to your house right now.
The DHL guy should be there right…about…now.
I’m running mac versions of creative suite and flash 8 on my intel imac 17". I’ve never used a mac before, but compared to performance on my PC, the PC feels a bit faster (I think the mac has higher specs than the PC). For example, when in flash (or photoshop), and I draw a small line with the brush tool, you can hear the imac working for a second and there’s a bit of a stall afterwards. I think it has something to do with the fact that rosetta has to translate the data for intel or something. Also with the filters in photoshop, I swear it runs a bit slower than it should. Having 1.5GB of ram probably saved me from feeling the full blow.
Its nothing to stress over, running multiple pro (adobe/macromedia) programs is great. Just the small things you sometimes notice.
I’m hoping that when CS3 comes around, they will provide an upgrade for mac versions of CS2 to the intel-native CS3, otherwise I’m doomed to have a set of programs that dont run at full capacity, unless I buy a full version of cs3 (and Im hoping that wont happen because I dont want to have bought full CS2, only to find that I have to buy full cs3)
I checked outside, nothings there?
Well there still is not a CS2 universal app yet…Adobe’s site says so.
The whole (Mac) world is waiting for these universal apps.
Nevertheless, if he works at apple, he’s gotta be a cool cat…and must know when leopard is coming out!!! haha
