Arrowhead Mountain Spring Water

Needless to say, our company no longer gets our water from Arrowhead… We contacted the health department, and it turns out that this is quite a common occurance. Since the bottles are recycled, sometimes debris does not get washed out, and then gets missed on the quality control conveyor belt, only to be delivered to the customer… Yumm!!

Ewwwwwww. . . . . . . . .

Hunts down Arrowhead Spring Water HeadQuarters

that’s disgusting. it’s mineral rich tap water for me!

What is it!?!

eew. man thast nasty. at least you looked at it before putting it up…that would be even worse.

looks like a turd in the water.

MMM … chunky

it really did look like a turd, or something organic atleast… it’s kind of hard to tell, but whatever it was, it soaked up a lot of water, and managed to turn the entire jugs content a milky white color… we figured that it was an apple, or some pieces of meat that were not fully rinsed out of the jug before being refilled…

And while we are on the topic of bottled water, allow me to rant a bit: The other night i found myself looking at a Pepsi Vending machine that wanted to charge me a $1.25 for a twenty ounce beverage. I don’t drink soda, so water was my only option, but i found myself suddenly disgusted at the idea that a bottle of water costs just as much as a bottle of soda of the same size… somethings wrong with that picture. I was also disturbed by the fact that even those who do not wish to support soda companies, do so anyway when they purchase certain brands of bottled water. Aquafina is a Pepsi Product. Dasani is a Coka-Cola Product. Now the stores even carry someting called ‘Snap2o’ which is snapple brand bottled water. Does anybody else find it disturbing that we have to pay for the right to drink clean purifed water? Tap water is free, but warm, and potential unpurified, and may contain minute traces of arsenic, flouride, and chlorine… Where do these Soda companies get off thinking that they they should charge customers for something that ought to be free? End Rant…

has anyone seen that movie, The Tuxedo?

maj: couldn’t agree more.

thor: uhm… no…?

people pay more for water than they do for gasoline…

I’ve always thought that was strange. If you had come up to me 30 years ago, and told me that there would be “water wars” , I would have laughed in your face…

Personally, I filter my own tap water, since it is essentially all the bottled water companies do anyway…

I bet you all also didn’t know that every time you buy a bottle of Snapple (whatever the kind), you’re giving money to help support a convicted cop killer in Philadelphia and not only get him off death row but out of jail completely…

I agree, it sucks that you support soda companies when buying certian bottled waters, but so is life. No one can fully understand exactly where our money goes once it leaves our hands.

Sure have…

I have the same problem at work, the soda machine charges 1.10 for a 20oz bottle. Including water. Although i guess it is nice that cafeteria has filtered water for free just take your cup/mug/bottle/whatever there and fill up. =)

Cheers!

What are you talking about???

Did you know that places that serve food are not allowed to charge for water? If they sell food, they are legally obligated to provide water, even to customers who do not purchase anything. They can charge for the cost of a cup, but if you have your own cup, they cannot charge you…

Rev: I hear you about the water/gasoline price comparison… i was making that point to some friends today… pretty insane…

No one can fully understand exactly where our money goes once it leaves our hands.

Not entirely true. You just gotta follow the money trail… for example, whenever you buy a Post, Kraft, Nabisco, or Planters product, you are supporting the worlds largest tobacco conglomerate, Altria (formerly known as Phillip Morris International). Their product list includes Post Raisin Bran, Nabisco Shredded Wheat, Kraft Cheese and Macaroni, Planters Peanuts, Kool-Aid Bursts, Capri Sun, Tang, Toblerone Candy, Dijourno Pizzas, A1 Steak sauce, Philladelphia Cream Cheese, Grey Poupon, Wheat Thins, Animal Crackers, Altoids, Oreos, Oscar Meyer Lunchables, Chrystal Light, Frito Lay, not to mention Miller High Life, Marlboro’s and Virginia Slims. Altria’s website even lists Taco Bell and Starbucks, as two of its aquired subsidiaries…

I think a better way of saying what you said would be, “Very few people are able to fully understand exactly where their money goes once it leaves thieir hands.”

On a lighter note: Gigli is a box-office bomb!! Yay!! =)

Gilgi is a MAJOR box-office bomb :thumb:

yeah i knew that - I think it’s the same in the UK… of course… the water is only tap water but still…

The reason you get charged is because it’s be cleansed and/or purified and bottled (the cost of major purification like that is quite immense afaik). So… you should be able to get manky untreated water for free  of course… you have to have it supplied to your house (so you pay your water supplier ;))

Yeah i understand that they hafta charge for the purified bottled water, but my gripe stems from the fact that soda is purified water with sugary syrup, and CO2 added, yet its all the same price as purified water… thats all im sayin…

oh… so… they should charge more for soda?
