I just got the trial version of 3ds 8, and just to say, wow. It’s just simply awesome, it has more things in it than you could imagine. The built-in plugins themselves make it worth buying the new version, but the material editor, just simply breath taking at all of the new things that were added. In 3ds 8, they have a built-in hair and fur plugin, a cloth plugin (basically clothfx), and just, a heap load of modifiers and little gadgets. I’m still messing around with it, and I’m telling you, it’s worth giving the trial a shot, even for those that don’t really do 3d things, you could still do a LOT in it :D.
