The brilliant open source 3d package blender along with other open source apps like [URL=“http://www.inkscape.org/”]Inkscape and [URL=“http://www.gimp.org/”]GIMP were the tools used to create the latest open source movie from the team that made Elephants Dream.
The new movie was just released online - and the cool thing about open source movies is - you can download all the project files to see how the animators did it!
Called “Big Buck Bunny” - it’s about a, well, big bunny…well, obviously more than just that, watch it and find out 
The project also resulted in numerous advancements in blender’s capabilities, such as improved hair/fur
