Letterhead & Business Card Example
Presented these to the company I was doing contract work for about 2 weeks ago. On my last day, before I packed up and moved to Savannah to attend SCAD, and the company was blown away by them. What’s become of them I’m not quite sure, just sent an email out to the marketing manager to find out what they’re planning.
Essentially, the first two represent the company “sub-branding” themselves with seperate identities that match the various groups within the company, with the third being one consolidated logo.
Set1 is very different for each section, both color coded in letterhead, businesscard, and logo, as well as giving each sub-brand a logo which is reminiscent of the umbrella Media Group logo, but distinct.
Set2 is a toned down version of sub-branding, with only color coding and different “text treatments” used to accentuate which section of the company it belongs to. On the letterhead, the designs remain the same, with only the faction of the company up at the top, with the color at the bottom being that of the groups identity. Much more simple.
Set3 is one of those logos that came quickly to me, without much work. Initially I wanted a representative logo, and searched for something to work from Greek mythology. Apollo is the God of Creativity in the Greek mythos, but unfortunately is basically known as the “curly haired handsome guy”. But, he’s also known as the “Sun God” - which is what inspired this logo.
After a tad bit of manipulation, I went from a representative idea to much more of an abstract which has had many positive conotations amonst the people who’ve seen it. I’ve heard everything from birth to a vortex of creativity to genesis to flexibility and diversity.
In the end, I like this one the most, and am quite fond of the letterhead and businesscard which I feel has a sort of “sun rising over the horizon” feel to it
