. . .threads in the “forbidden” section are being edited? I believe the point of the forbidden section is to provide a record of evidence in the case of disputes.

It’s not me editing them, I go in there every now and then to see what’s new (if anything), but I never edit any posts, just read.

Thoriphes, that is one of two that I have noticed, have had posts removed from them.
Question. Can any Mod remove the first post in a thread, or can only the author do that?
If the first post is removed then doesn’t the entire thread get deleted?

I was wondering about incorporating a few of the non-mod regulars in there as well as background characters… Raydred (with Hawaiian shirt) would be a good one, people like that. I don’t think threads in Forbidden get edited (at least that I am aware of) - they may get split from a larger thread and moved there instead. It’s no use in moving an entire conversation because of one or two odd posts

I went there resently, to read the big brew-haha between some mods. I certainly did not edit anything, and I agree that stuff that is in there should stay visible and non-edited.

Kirupa, if you could, I’d ask that you take a moment to make a “sticky” thread in the forbidden section which states that mods should not be editing these posts in any way.
The threads in question are very interesting. Because the person chose to delete every post except those that are mine, that IMPLIES to my mind that the person doesn’t see my posts. Of coruse I’m just guessing… but considering how many times Phil has altered posts in the past to censor his own stupid thoughts, I would not put this past him on this occation.
No I don’t have any proof.
Lastly, just for the record Kirupa, I’m not at all sure that you should just arbetrarily move threads like that one into the forbidden section. I realize that you are trying to prevent arguements, but you must realize by now that prevention is impossible. The post WAS in the secrect forum, and was not in any way addressing phil. So really I don’t see the point, nor do I like these threads being moved. If I say something in a thread which is against the rules, I expect you to make me apologise, If there is nothing in fault in my post, then I expect my threads to stay exactly where they are and in tact.

No you are not being unreasonable, but I feel it is best to let those topics die. Opinions on both sides are not going to change regardless of whatever is posted, and it is only going to be an annoyance to us all. I am well aware of the points you made (you e-mailed me them), and there is no need to resuscitate these topics again.
Prevention would be impossible if those topics were allowed. It wouldn’t be an endless cycle of who gets the last word in. And your subtle, yet derogatory remarks about Phil aren’t helping. That’s why they (and topics such as this) get moved to Forbidden.

Subtle… I thought that I was being blatent. . . guess I’ll have to work on that. I’m not sure what you mean by “topics being allowed”. I had thought that Phill’s moronic idea of turning “ignore posts from”, options “on”. Was supposed to prevent arguements. Disalllowing a topic which is not specifcialy a violation of any rule leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but that’s just me I suppose.
As for the last word… I’m hardly posting here anymore. I do research here and that’s it. The only reason I replied to anything was because someone addressed a question to me specificaly, or as in this case, I had a specific question that had to be answered by everyone. This is not a case of “who gets the last word” at least, not from my end of things. I have already gotten the “best word” which is far more important to me than whatever is said last. Of course I do wish to prevent things from being said about me, as I’m sure anyone would, but it really doesn’t apear as if anyone is slandering me or anything like that.

Come on now, don’t you think these are going to incite a harsh response from Phil? That’s why this thread is going to get moved as well - it serves no real purpose, and we just discuseed on AIM about the threads and how the body content wasn’t edited. It takes two people to incite an argument, and you certainly aren’t helping. I was hoping you didn’t mean to sound blatant, but since you clarified that you wrote what you did on purpose, you are only fueling the flame 
While Phil may have ignore posts enabled, it doesn’t give you a right to have to keep prodding him with a stick. If you and he can’t be friends, at least try to avoid each other and not get on each others’ nerves:ub:
