Can't publish - please help

I’m trying to publish my site using Frontpage 2000.

BUT: I’ve registered book-trade.co.uk as my domain name.
Then I tried opening the web folder and going ot File -> Publish Web, typed in http://www.book-trade.co.uk, and it said:

“The server you are publishing to does not have the Frontpage server extentions installed and therefore does not support publishing via HTTP. To continue publishing, specify a location that will work with FTP.”

I did that and typed “ftp://www.book-trade.co.uk”, and clicked OK. Then I typoed the username and password, clicked OK. Then it said:

“Could not find a web server at ‘www.book-trade.co.uk’. Please check to make sure that the web server name is valid and your proxy settings are set correctly. If ou are sure everything is correct, the web server may be temporarily out of service.”

Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

well, if it said that the server doesnt have extensions, then you’re out of luck. because if it doesnt have extensions, then you cant publish.

did you just register the domain? or did you get hosting too? cause you cant upload things to just the domain, you need hosting too.

I’m sure they’ve got server extentions, my hosting is with www.catalyst2.com - it says the package i chose comes with extentions.

I’ve got both a domain and a hosting package, so i don’t think that is the problem.

Hello dpotter,
Many hosts claim to have FP extensions enabled, but they won’t enable them unless you ask them. Have you tried asking them to install it/enable it for you?
