if you want it to be random … you’re going to need quite a bit of actionscript and chances are if you don’t know the script you’ll not be able to work easily with a script that complicated. i think the easiest way would be to just animate it and have it loop.
sometimes if i want a really realistic effect i’ll take pictures of the thing i want and import them and trace them to get the framework for the animation.
yeah you would have to use api and create some dynamic swirls … with gradient fills and partial transparency. i think the script would be more trouble than the effect is worth though. so i would still do an animation so you get the exact look and feel you want. random is neat but not always the best way to go
Yeah, I figure that would be tuff. I worked on an experiment with blowing dust. I wound up doing a random particle thing that didn’t look all that realistic. I had to…what the!!!..hey, who shut off my footer!?..guess I’ll lose the sound…If I had the know-how, I’d just use a looping piece of video - that’s why I asked. Thanks!!
that footer was cool too!! been there for a while hasn’t it? did they just notice it? lol
plus, it only had a rollover sound, guidlines say
“Small rollOver sounds are allowed”
I agree, I liked that footer, but I use it on my website. It had been up for a while, so I thought it was okay. You know, that thunder sound that I had attached to it was a bit obnoxious - I was told by some that it scared them, so I’m okay with losing it. I hope the mods know that my new footer is just a joke about having to lose the sound!! :beam: …and if not - it was nice knowin’ ya!! (just kidding!!)
