Huge changes to the cnn site. Pretty cool, but I don’t know my way around anymore:pirate:
I have to say, I despise the redesign. They have squished the main story and image over against the left of the window, and they have a huge advertising section sitting in prime real estate that is bigger then the main story image. I also don’t like how the tabs for “Top Stories” and “Most Popular” don’t blend well with the list of stories below, they just sort of end, which looks like a mistake.
CNN has been my default homepage for years, but after this horrible redesign, I think its time for a change.
I quite like it but nobody likes change.
i agree with ethant…i just dont have that much hatred for it. I will still go there for my news stories. they gotta make money somehow.
I must admit I don’t go there often (once a week). But to me it look like a small change rather than major redesign?
MSNBC.com is pretty organized but there stories can be a bit fluffy; I like to check out all the majors CNN, Fox and compare how they are reporting certain stories. :shifty:
Im more amazed at the fact they designed their site for 1024x768 than 800x600 since its still the most used screen resolution or am I wrong?
Yeah they completely changed screen res, redid the banner and placement of everything. Added a lot of content. I’d say that’s a major revamp.
They have some really organized source code lol. And I dont know its not all that great i really like the fast loads (everythings instant on DSL, but it seems like they have really got rid of any extra clutter).
BBC is still my favorite layout (*not colors though).
