What can you do with this program?
I know it has something with webpages to do but what?

That’s the official line. 
Basically it’s a web applicatin server. The kinds of things you can do with JavaScript, PHP, ASP, JSP etc are what ColdFusion does.
I’m using it to build an eCommerce shoppiing cart for example.
