Cosmetic Surgery

I did a search for this and didn’t find anything, but if there is another thread on this topic then I applogize.

This is something that’s been on my mind lately as a family member just had some work done. I really think this whole idea of changing the way you look through surgery is way out of hand. T.V., media, and society as a whole is telling people they aren’t good enough and to go out and pay some quack to change their bodies.

What are your thoughts

whatever floats their boats… If they feel happier that way, I don’t mind. It’s THEIR body, not mine.

I read a story, not long ago, of twins that had extreme surgery. One of them had a finger cut at the first phalanx (??) and it was added to the other twin, hence giving an alien-long ring finger. It was wierd… I’ll search for it if/when I have more time…

I don’t like plastic surgery for image enhancements. It’s one thing to have plastic surgery done if you were in a severe accident, suffered a major burn, etc. Simply getting some work done to make yourself feel better seems like a short term psychological solution. If you can’t be satisfied with who or what you are, I doubt you’ll be satisfied after you have work done on you.

But, as long as they pay for the medical bill themselves (as in, not indirectly using my money from taxes), they don’t bother me one bit :slight_smile:

I’m for it. I personally prefer natural beauty, but Plastic Surgery provides jobs and makes most of the people who get it feel better about themselves which is big part of leading a happy healthy life.

i dont think most surgery is good, but if you have a MASSIVE nose or ure wife has had kids and wants her ‘old’ boobs back then so be it!! i would pay for my wife to have her boobs done…

I don’t see anything wrong with it and I really don’t understand why anyone else would. I see plastic surgey as being the same as tattooing.

That’s one of the best comments I could have heard Krilnon. Everyone is beautiful in their own way, except for me :lol:

I see my cousin going through real bad times trying to heal from something she shouldn’t have had in the first place.

$10,000 later and 2 sore boobs when all she had to do was hit the gym :sigh:
