I was wondering what the best method is for creating vector real-looking representations of people for flash. I’ve seen some good examples (don’t have links though, mainly in TV comercials and MTV), is it usally done by importing a photo and rotoscoping it or is it done in another app perhaps in 3d then imported?
I don’t need a lot of animation on them, just arms moving.
for “real-looking”, yes, rotoscoping is still pretty common. Theres also tracing bitmap in Flash - converting an image directly from raster to vector - Adobe has an app that does this as well though its name currently escapes me.
in the above site, I used Adobe premier to break up the mpeg into jpegs, then with Fireworks, exported them as 4 color gifs via batch process, then brought them into Flash, where I used Trace Bitmap…
