I am updating my website portfolio with an entirely new look and feel. Attached is a jpg of how it’s going to look. I am trying to make it a very clean looking site. If I could get some critical feedback on it I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
It’s a good start, but it’s definitely not finished. I like the monotone, it’ll work well no matter what you have in your portfolio. You might want to play with your fonts a little, it’s a looking a little bland. Don’t think that that means fill it up with clutter! It just means adjusting the space, like soulty and tim have mentioned; and refinning what you have.
How will you be putting this all together? You might want to do some browser pat tests before you go too much further; things like drop shadows can be a pain in the rump.
Looks good so far. But as others have said dont stop here. Try increasing the thumbnail display a bit. Also try fading pm.com text behind it a bit or use a slightly lighter color. And pls dont use screen shots for thumbnails. I mean dont give the browser window view. A another suggestion can you make a new version with the thumbnail view as well as buttons over pm.com text and use the open white area to give project info.
I plan on making this site entirely in flash. The reason the fonts look crappy in the image I posted is because it’s a low quality jpg. They’re actually going to be flash pixel fonts in the final outcome. Eventually I hope to have some cool animations in there as well to show off the site.
I condensed the size of the page and also implemented some of the other changes that were suggested to me.
There was more empty space than I had originally realized, I think changing the width really helps that out. Attached is the new version. Anymore input would gladly be welcomed!
Hey good work so far. How about trying my previous suggestion (thumbnail view as well as buttons over pm.com text) I think it may look good like that did you try it. I guessed it may be in flash but since you didnt specify I preffered not to assume it. Well looking forward to seeing the finished site.
