Do you hide tech from your kids? Do you use tech secretly?

This is a question for programmers who have kids! Do you hide/avoid tech from your kids? How do you manage your tech lifestyle when having small kids at home?

While we didn’t let our daughter see or play with a TV/tablet until she was around 2 years old, we have been gradually letting her play educational games and have limited TV time during meals

That’s a nice way! Thanks for sharing. I worry the kids might see how much the parents use tech and want to do the same. We are upcoming parents

We classify everything we don’t want our kids to fo but we do as “adult” things…

e.g. toddler asks for a beer “thats an adult drink”.

e.g you slip up and swear in front of the kids “thats an adult word, kids don’t say that”

Phones are “adult” things, tablets are ours (they don’t own them) and can be borrowed for good behaviour…

If they’re really naughty we do no tablets for a week and we remove the power cord from the TV… it works a charm  after a week they’re angels… and then just the threat is enough…
