Well it depends on what your using for compression, flash 8 has on2 compression which works wonders you just gotta make some nice renders and play with the settings a bit.
you can also try sorenson squeeze but thats gonna cost some mula.
well yeah why not? the compression doesnt affect your 3d capabilities as a designer it has nothing to do with it, you just gotta be good at the 3d app and use compression to your advantage by tweaking the settings.
you could export as QT then use squeeze to compress it or covert it to .flv. But if you are comfortable with c4d then stick with that. The process will be the same no matter the 3d app
If you rendering small stuff an image sequence will often suffice. Otherwise its rendering movies and finding the right compressors. They probably used Maya or 3D max or similar.
I highly doubt this was rendered with a vector engine, that quality vectorised wld probably be a bigger file size than a avi…, it has to be rasterised.
As for cinema 4d, it can do some amazing stuff. I only use maya and max, but i presume cinema 4d is just as versatile. Learning a new 3D prog would probably be not worth the hassel. It would take a couple days to figure out the maya interface and then you’ll just be slow for a few weeks. Cinema 4d is fine
It depends what you know how to use just because some people use maya, max, or lightwave it dont mean that theyre models will be better than yours, its all about skill and what you know how to use.
the program doesnt make the cool stuff on its own if your a good modeler and know your lighting techniques no matter what app you use it will always look great.
Thanks Grim, I have Cinema 4d. I have Sorenson so I will be using that to compress with. Just need to spend more time with the program. The caddy site (http://www.classiccaddytours.com/) is beginning to look a bit hokey so thought I would add some class to it.
