Domain Help! please

i really need help, im thinking of moving my domain to a new hosting company, is this possible, im getting really mad that there are so many limits that are on doteasy. its 60 bucks for only 6 months of PHP allowence.

please help:(

yes alex all you gotta do is change the dns to your new host as simple as that so dont worry

so do i have to pay for the new host? or will my current subscription change over?

im confused, i dont want to mess anything up.

Uhm… I think you’d have to cancel your current subscription and hope to high heavens you get some money back.

i recommend hostrocket -

http://www.hostrocket.com

they have GREAT hosting from $9.95 US a month, it’s who my site is hosted by. They have really good uptime, and all the bells and whistles you could hope for.

you got to cancel your current hosting transfer your firles to your new host and change the dns numbers its a process that takes about 24 to 72 hours so make sure you cancel your current host after your ahve your site up on your new host

whats the dns numbers?

im still confused on what to do, i dont want to mess anything up and get my self in trouble. lol

sure thing phil. but whats in it for me? lol

but the down fall is that its going to cost me 115 a year, i pay 30 something over at doteasy. All i really want is to get PHP, but its 60 bucks for 6 months. SO if i buy it there, it would be alot cheaper. you see what i mean?

alex, go for it, and phil i think your numbers are off
i get 400 mb of space and 30 gig transfer there… and they only have one plan
or maybe my numbers are off
regardless, alex, go to ipowerweb, it will be worth it when your site grows

i guess it would be cheaper going to ipowerweb because if i get a forum up for my friends, i would have to keep renewing it every 6 months. So i am still in the thinking process.

contact doteasy and ask them if they offer a money back guarantee kind of thing… it doesnt say anywhere on their site ;(

**edit

if they dont, you can host your forum somewhere else like tripod.lycos.com

but tripod has to many popups lol

i sent doteasy an email, and i told them that i might be swithcing, and if i would get any money back. I also said since i would be leaving because the cost of the PHP was expensive, So i hope that they try to get me to stay by lowering the price. (im keeping my fingers crossed)
:):stuck_out_tongue:

alex dns is donamin name server its what directs the user to your website ie: www.yourwebsite.com its just a name for an ip address thats assigned to your website so dont worry about messing anything up when you switch hosts they tell you what dns info you have to change in order to have your site directed to your new host if you have problems just post and im sure someone will help you out if not pm me or email me i will be more than gald to help you out buddy

Often times the new host will handle all that switching for you and have you live within 72 hrs.
(the switch takes place with the registry that registered your domain name)… go look up your domain name then do a whoIs search and all the register info will be there

yeah I agree with Phil. www.ipowerweb.net is the way to go.

I could host you for $20 for a yr, possibly - if you tell me your requirements.
